Payson First Baptist Church Annual Electric Light Parade
In honor of the 400th Anniversary of the Holy Bible, for this years APS Electric Light Parade we built ourselves a huge King James bible and slowly pulled it down Main Street, our prayer being that all who saw it would reconsider their personal relationship with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and ask ourselves, where is His word in our lives today?
Payson First Baptist is an independent, bible-believing, historic Baptist church. Just like our Baptist forefathers, we believe that Jesus Christ should be the absolute head (He shares this position with no one.) of his church, (Col 1:18) and that the preserved, inspired Word of God (KJV) is our final authority in all (no exceptions) matters of faith and practice. Things are much simpler here at Payson First Baptist, because we believe that the church is not a business or just an organization. It is a living organism, (a body) that functions properly through obedience to God’s word and prayer meetings instead of business meetings. This obedience to, and love for God and his Word compels us to worship God in an old-fashioned way. We are not living in the past. We are honoring this country’s heritage, enjoying today, and focusing on the future. We believe that "psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs," sung in the traditional fashion, is an important part of our worship. But, building strong families with a foundation in the Old Book (the KJV Bible) is the most essential need in these modern times.
We know that the only hope for Payson and the world today is repentance of sins, and faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.(Acts4:12) Come see how God is working at Payson First Baptist Church.
